Ellen Joyce shows up in some Gary, Indiana city directories in the 1940's and 1950's as the widow of Joseph and her middle initial is listed as T in two of them.  It might not definitely rule her out, but she might not be yours.

Hey thanks for your reply. I have now seen Ellen Kate birth cert. Her full name giving is Eleanor Catherine Cox.

However in the notes its says "INFORMANT; FATHER, CHILDS NAME; ELLEN KATE"

This changes everything, I will have to start all over again. My ancestors didn't make things easy for me. :)

I have now found Ellen, She was Ellen Catherine Honan, who married Martin J Honan. She lived in Gary Indiana. I found this information from my mother's cousin. When he was little he was sent of to post the letters to Ellen. He is a world of information, he was able to give me her name and her full address.

I was then able to find information on Ellen brother as it stated in a ship record he was going to her. However it then was stroked out changed to an New York address.

I also found a old post dating back till 1999 from a man trying to find information on Ellen. However as the post was over 10 year ago, the email address provided is no longer in use. :(
