Thanks - doesnt really help sadly, was hoping for Carr witnesses who may have been siblings.

Age is interesting given the lack of Birth Registrations for late 1890s ... wonder if he fibbed ...

Its not at all unusual for illegitimate people as an alternative to showing no Father, to use a close relation's name on marriage registration - so maybe he was the son of one of George's older daughters?

They had a 14 year old Charlotte in the 1891 census

RG12/Piece: 26 Folio 114 Page 14

Might have to get that Birth Certificate ....

yes may have to get a certificate
edward is down as a grandson in 1911 so may have been illigitimate to either mary (1875) or charlotte (1878)
havent been able to find the george born in 1880 in 1901 or 1911 thought he may have been the george named on the marriage cert. but it could have been grand dad too as he was a cab man
