gft file

 ???

I have been sent a gft file and cannot open it. I use family tree maker which doesn't support gft files. Is there a way to open it that is free?

.gft extensions are normally used as font files for a program called neopaint ... I thought it had died off a long time ago but it appears that there is a version for windows XP.
a trial version (free) can be downloaded from http://www.neosoftware.com/npw.html

According to Google, .gft files are associated with a program called 'GSP Family Tree'.

Just a thought, but couldn't you ask your source to send you a GEDcom file instead ?

Don't be so hard on yourself. If you are a Patton are you related to Billy? It could be a small world.

Thanks again

Billy ? .... My Patton line although my main line is a solid brick wall at the moment (or rather a brick maze  ::) ) .... my great grandfather was John Patton born 1876 in Ireland his father was William Patton a small farmer.John also had a brother William who was the reporter at Johns death at the age of 23 in Pollokshaws
I've got several leads but no definitive proof on any of them and they all seem to point to different Counties
