Yet 1851-1861-1871 censuses all give his birthplace as Ramsey. Perhaps he was born in Ramsey, as you stated in your post of yesterday on the Hunts board, but baptised elsewhere. What information have you learned since yesterday which has caused you to change your view on his birthplace?

Has Ramsey parish register been checked?

Sorry, crystal ball is a bit cloudy this morning. You didn't say on either thread that you'd already checked Ramsey.

No children of Saunders and Martha appear in the Chatteris transcript. Their marriage entry shows Saunders, bachelor of Ramsey, and Martha otp, by licence, and the witnesses were James Smith, Ann Curtis, Mary Newton, Thomas Ridlington and John Newitt (who witnessed many marriages at around this time)
