RIC service number

Hi, hoping someone is able to help me with the RIC service number of Thomas Colahan Born 1836 enlisted 1856, Thomas is from Galway. Or am I able to access this info at the National Archives?

I am only in London for one more day (visiting from Australia) and I am planning on going to the National Archives tomorrow to look up his service records.

Unfortunately I ended up with food poisoning my last day in London so didn't get there, not to mention the long and unpleasant flight home. I will have to pay to get my research done at a later date.

You could contact Jim Herlihy at Blarney Garda (police) station. He has access to some RIC records. He has written a book on the RIC and might be able to help you. Contact details on attached link:
