GEATLEY family

I wonder if anyone has information on a GEATLEY family, living in or around Marlborough in the 1820-1830's. I am particularly looking for Elizabeth GEATLEY (b. c1811 in Marlborough), and marrying William PERKINS (b. Taunton c1815) in Marlborough around 1835.

As a consequence, I have found more records of Geatley's back as far as 1679 in my area of search, but sadly not for Elizabeth.

I do have a copy of her child's birth certificate dated 1841, but her maiden name as recorded is rather indistinct. For quite a while I had been searching for the name of GENTLEY, of which there were very few recordings around Marlborough.

Your suggestion that the name I was seeking was GOATLEY, not GENTLEY or GEATLEY, has proven correct.

Elizabeth Preston Goatley was baptised at Marlborough in 1809. I found her death recorded on freebmd as Elizabeth Preston PERKINS in 1887, aged 77 years.

Also, for general interest I found an excellent site at www.archive.org where there was a transcription of Phillimore Marriages for Wiltshire, particularly Marlborough, from the early 1600's to 1812. It's quite hard going, but very helpful

Just been looking at some of my certificates ,I looked at birth of Ellen Perkins 1841 Hungerford,father William  b c1816 Taunton,mother I always thought read Elizabeth Gentley,but on looking at it today I thought it looked like Goatley.
Anyway this led me to this thread.Thanks to Colin et al I now have Elizabeths baptism plus Father & Mother.
Just goes to show it pays to re-look at our docs every now & again.
Colin it looks  like we share  ancestors,Elizabeth is my GGG Grandmother.
