Lost in the Big Pond

My family tree is nearly completed but I am having so much trouble with these Atlantic crossings:

1. Harry Morris              28, iron worker from        Bolton, Lancashire, U.K
    Beatrice Morris          27, cotton winder             Bolton
    Vera Morris                  2                                 Bolton
    Arthur Morris               1                                 Bolton    (They came to Canada around 1909.)

2. Elizabeth Ann Barrett, 54,                               Bradford, York, U.K.
    Amy Barrett               19, milliner                   Bradford
    Ada Barrett                17, milliner                   Bradford  (They came to the U.S. in 1891 0r 1892.)

3. James Myers              35, warp dresser            Shipley, Yorkshire, U.K.
    Joseph Myers             14, worsted spinner        Shipley   (They came to the U.S. around 1881.)

4. Jonas Hilbert              18, unknown                  Hanover, Germany (He came before 1860.)

I had such trouble with the ships, I postponed contacting you until I worked out all the details of their lives on both sides of the Atlantic, so the above entries should be accurate give or take a year. I'd appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you,  Josh

Kevin, I don't know if this is my Jonas Hilbert. He was born in 1842 in Hanover, Germany. That's a 6 year difference, and the earliest I could find him in the U.S. was 1860 in Ohio. I'll enter him in my ? notes, because I don't recognize him, but thanks for the leads anyway.  Josh

I probably didn't handle this thread properly. The Morris history is complete. On the Barretts, we have everything but the ship they arrived on. We found a ship out of Liverpool 1891 they had tickets for, but their names were crossed off the list, and NOB was written, which is supposed to mean "Not On Board". The Myerses: We know when the wife and children arrived. James the husband, and Joseph the elder son came earlier. This is on that thread Shelly referred to. Jonas Hilbert is mentioned on this thread. The problem is there were two or more Jonas Hilberts in America at the time (according to familysearch), and I'm not sure the one Kevin found is my great great grandfather. In summary, I'm looking for the Barrett's voyage: Elizabeth, Amy and Ada Barrett, James and Joseph Myers on a ship together from England, and any other Jonas Hilberts coming from Germany, especially if they are accompanied by an adult, because Jonas appears to have made the trip as a boy or , at least, a teenager.  Thanks,  Josh

Hello Josh,

The naturalization papers for Joseph told you he was on the Ohio 2 May 1881.  (Reply 8 on the other thread)
It was a Philadelphia Passenger List - Liverpool to Philadelphia arrival date was 4 th May 1881.
James was listed as 34 years (labourer) and Joseph as 11 years. The only discrepancy was the country to which they belonged was given as Ireland.
