Hi Tony

Hugh Snr died at "Faybens" on the 30th August 1912 aged 70.
http://whitemountainhistory.org/fabyan_house.html
We believe he imigrated in 1894/5 to Whitefield, New Hampshire as stated in the 1900 census in Lunenburg Vermont which is 10 miles north of Whitfield New Hampshire. The census indicated he was married for 38 years but with no wife with him and this confirms his marriage date to Jessie in Tomintoul in 1862. The 1910 census entry shows him in New Hampshire at Carroll Township about 5 miles south of Whitefield it also states he was married for 48 years.
This is also confirmed by the 1911 Scotland census stating Jessie Fitzpatrick as married yet on her death record in 1913 it indicated she was a widow.

So this explains no mention of Hugh Snr in the letter.

I would be really interested if I could read a copy of the letter at some point?

Regards

Brendon

Hi

i forgot to mention that Donald had married by 1913. Her name was Mary and appears to be Scottish. Unfortunately I do not have any further details about her apart from the fact that she visited Scotland late in 1912 and must have still been there when the letter was written in March 1913.

Regards

Tony
