British Passenger Act 1855 - text COMPLETED
« on: Saturday 28 May 11 23:30 BST (UK) »
MODERATOR please move if this is not the right place

I'm looking for the text of the British Passengers Act of 1855.
Does anyone know where I might access this online?

I have found the text of the 1864 version which gives great insight into the rules governing ship-board life for passengers.

I would like to compare this with the 1855 version.

If there are earlier versions I'd like those too - I think there was an 1852 Act

thanks

Barb

books.google.com has (full view, at least from where I am)
A treatise on the law of merchant shipping
 By David Maclachlan (1862)

It has a section on law relating to passengers. The Passengers Act, 1855, is included as an appendix.

Thanks so much

I have located the Act in the reference you provided.
Some other parts of the book also look interesting.  Not bedtime reading however!
