Looking for ancestors of Thomas (H)inman who married Mary Ann Whitney in 1822.  Their son, Thomas Martin Inman married Mary Ann Garraway in 1849, Ros-on-Wye, Herefordshire, England.

christenings of the children of Thomas and Mary Ann in Ross
Mary Ann 13th september 1868
Thomas 1863
ellen 1863  twins ??
Charlotte Elizabeth 5th March 1852
George 1850
that`s it...so ....were they in another town from 1852 to 1863 ????...11 years no records of christenings in Ross , so I presume they moved away and then back to Ross
looking at the records I would think that Thomas who married M A Whitney - probable parents
James and Mary ..in Ross having children 1796 period ,,,but I can`t find Thomas b abt 1800 ??

I found them in the 1861 Census in Ross.

Thomas Hinman, Male, 33, Head, Born Ross, Herefordshire
Maryanne Hinman, Female, 37, Wife, Born Ross, Herefordshire
George Hinman, Male, 11, Son, Born Ross, Herefordshire
Elizabeth Hinman, Female, 9, Dau., Born Ross, Herefordshire
Mary A. Hinman, Female, 1, Dau., Born Ross, Hereforshire

Mary Ann's maiden name was Garraway. She is the daughter of William Garraway and Ann Constant.

I agree with you that Thomas is the son of Thomas and Mary Anne (Whitney) Hinman/Inman

I suspect, but do not have the proof, that one of the ancestors of your Thomas Martin Inman was Martin Inman of Ross, nailor, who was admitted & sworn a Freeman of the City of Hereford on 8 November 1714 – for wine & thanks – having married Martha, widow of Thomas Meredith, tailor.

Thomas Inman (who was of Ross), nailor, was admitted & sworn a Freeman of the City of Hereford on 12 March 1761 – for 5s – eldest son of Martin Inman, nailor. Thomas Inman & Elizabeth Cooper were married at Ross on 6 July 1754.

Thomas Inman must have died in the 1760s as Elizabeth Inman, widow of Thomas Inman, married James Addis at Ross on 11 November 1769.

I would be interested in knowing more about your Thomas Martin Inman.
