Also his father in law George was born in Rathdown

Do you know what happened his mother Margaret?
I last found her in 3 Gt Charles Street Dublin in the 1901 census.

Think it's Tea Lane. Look at the 'S' in Scarnagh Inch (as a residence) in the Marriage record above yours.

Yes.  You are right. 
I could only find Sea Road
And I notice they spell  the surname Johnson and Johnston
I always thought it was only Johnson
