Help please. I,m browsing the burial transcripts and have encountered what

Hi

Could it indicate that the information came from the World Jewish Congress archives (WJC)

Hi Kevin,

I shouldn't think so, these records are in the 1700's and the letters are from the same hand.

Thank you,

Ed.

Can you post a copy of an entry or a link to it so we can have a look at it?

Hi Pat,

I've tried to transfer a scanned image into this mail, but I'm stuck in Micro office.

There is no direct link, its from

IGI transcripts, baptisms and burials 1777 -1783, image 78 of 105,
Yarmouth, Norfolk, St Nicholas.

Ed.

Moderator comment: small part of the image added.  There are several instances of this on the same page as well as on following and previous pages.  I think it is actually W.H. - see image 80 in a different handwriting

I would say it's WH.

Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

I agree it is WH.

I looked backwards and on image 65 there is "a man unknown WH" which gave me a clue - I think it means the burial of someone from the Work House i.e. a pauper's burial. Perhaps these were exempt from the usual tax or charged at a special rate so they needed to be accounted for in some way?
