Also waiting for any Auckland papers  - I wonder if   the NZH is not cooperating on this. Seems rather  odd that all the other major dailes have some issues showing.

And what a great number coming up in June from the Evening Post -  1916-1945, there will a real treasure trove there.

Still waiting for the King Country Chronicle also. Their records started 1906 and sadly the papers a very fragile now. I have emailed them twice with a request, re Papers Past ...............But no reply.

I'm Chelsea, the service manager for Papers Past here at the National Library.  Sorry to be jumping in this conversation a bit late, but I wanted to respond to a few posts.   

Mackiwi - my sincerest apologies that your enquiries weren't addressed.  In the future if you have questions about Papers Past, please send them directly to me at email address removed by moderator, please use PM Function  I will document your interest in seeing the King Country Chronicle available on Papers Past.

DonL - I will also document your interest in seeing the Poverty Bay newspapers from 1878.  We do realise that the Poverty Bay Herald began publishing in 1874 and that Papers Past begins coverage of the paper from 1878, but we do not have the microfilm for years 1874-1877 in our collection at this time.  Regarding the addition of large Auckland papers, we assure you we're working on it.  We recognise the significance of these papers and the demand from the public is staggering.  There are a number of issues we're working through right now, including partnership arrangements with the owners of the paper and Auckland City Libraries. 

I'd also like to take this opportunity to let you know we'll be adding the following newspapers to Papers Past in early July (apologies for the delay to those of you expecting these papers to be available in June.):

Poverty Bay Herald (gap: 1902)

Lyttelton Times (1851-1862)

Evening Post (July-December 1871, 1916-1945)

Thames Star (1901-1920)

Albertland Gazette (1862-1864)

The Colonist (1857-1889)

Otago Daily Times (1861-1900)

Waiapu Church Gazette (1921-1945)
