I wonder if there might be link to my family here. My grandfather, Donald Ashley Davey (1908-1980) and his sister, Pearl, were the son of a Robert in the St Austell area. I guess it's unlikely to be Philip's brother Robert as he would have been in his 60s when Donald was born, but first-names carry through generations so there's a good chance of a connection, I hope.
Sadly my mother never knew her grandparents (they died a while before she was born, so before 1943) but I'm hoping to find some kind of connection in the sporadic records.
