A Mr Adcock ran the Saw Mill in Corby Glen until a few years ago when he retired. It was always known as Harry Hadcocks Saw Mill. The saw Mill is still going but run now by Mr D Mabey. I am not sure if Mr Adcock is still alive or living in the village or not. perhaps he was a son of the Charles Adcock in the 1901 census named after his grandfather. I have purchased timber from them, telephone number for the Saw Mill is 01406 550231 pehaps they can tell you.

Hi Margaret,
I live in Spalding around 20 miles from Corby Glen which is the other side of Bourne on the A151 in Lincolnshire. Not to be confused with Corby which is in Northamptonshire. It is a small village and the Sawmill is now on the site of the old Railway yard on the railway line closed by Dr Beeching some time ago. They are and have always been mostly suppliers of hardwoods, Oak, Ash etc.

Margaret,
My Grandfather, father & uncle were founder members of Spalding Cycling Club. Grandfather was President & a member from 1927 to 1952 when they gave him a leather wallet which I still have.
