Hi Sandra

Many thanks have received all now the 1861 and 1881. Did you by any chance look to see if he  John born 1806, was on the 1841 anywhere near his father ? It would establish if he was also living in the Brockholes area as well.  He  John born 1806 would have been 35 years in 1841
His first daughter Hannah being born 1831 should be on there as well unless they have rounded down.

Some thing else I have noticed on the 1841 John North  b 1772 aged 65.
with wife Mary. Are they living alone  or are they living with Richard North?
From the age of Richard North  could be his son. I can't work out the enumerators start and finish groups.

Sorry I am putting a lot on you here but picture forming now of John North 1772.
Sandra

Hi Sandra

John North, 1806, was living at Cuck Stool Kirkheaton in 1841.  Basically he was in the same place as he was in the 1851 census.  His occupation was given as Ag Lab.

Hi Sandra

The children I have now for John North b 1772 wife Mary Ann Denton are as follows.
John 1806, George 1807,(my gx grandfather). I had William b 1804 but the William on the census was born around 1818. I may have this wrong. Hannah born 1802, Sarah ch 24th May 1800 -died 1818 in Atkinson Mill Fire. Also there is a mention on the gravestone  of a Betsy who was born around 1846.  I do not have a Richard and the only Richard I can find with John as a father is a Richard ch 17th May 1789 St. Peter Huddersfield. The Richard on the census would have been b 1796.
There may be another Richard birth but yet to find .

John North b 1772 I believe is correct on this census especially as on the grave stone is the Name Mary Ann as his wife. Also son the gravestone is
Mary Ann an infant who died.

Sandra

It woul dbe nice if I could connect this Richard as a brother to John 1806.

There is a Richard North baptised at Kirkburton All Hallows 1795, address Highburton, father Joseph.  Richard's widow Charlotte was living at Brockholes in 1851, place of birth Almondbury.

Do you know where your other Norths were baptised?

Hello Sandra  Bee

I have spent the day in Wakefield archives

Though 'Find my past Says' (Need to pay for more info) Benjamin North was baptised 1670 Kirkheaton. The parish original register is in a right state of affairs with lots of entries unreadable! so it either a earlier transcription of the church register in the 19th century or earlier! or a BT entry at York Borthwick, (Will check it that out next time I'm in York.)

Benjamin North married Ruth Pollard 27th May 1697 Thornhill Parish

John North born 4th Oct 1696 son Benjamin of Lacelles Hall Fenny Kirkheaton

( Grandson of  John North of Coldroid, Kirkheaton Parish died 30th OcT 1693 aged 70 Kirkheaton Graveyard)

This is no more than a quick fair review summary guide of a random 1 afternoon (part day) search 13/06/2011 of Deeds & Wills!, this should be taken as so! (Nothing more) for Sandra Bee and anyone else should check the Deeds and Wills at Wakefield Archives service WYAS and the Borthwick Institute York uni ! Visit or contact these repositories for clarity! themselves

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Hi Dobby and Sandrastocks.

More than well pleased with the work you have done and thanks to you both.
Will add what you have found to my long line Norths and have at least
found out where John b 1772 and Mary Denton ended their days and filled a gap which I didn't know existed before.
Thanks to you both.
Sandra
