The particular line of enquiry follows this family from the early 1700's in the Lakenheath region of Suffolk to Scarborough, Yorkshire in the 1780's and 1790's, then to Preston, Lancashire in the late 1790's to 1820's then to Preston and Formby throughout the 1800's. The last known patriarch (Thomas Tunnell, excise officer) died in 1807 in Preston, but wife and many daughters lived in Formby and surrounds. The first recorded Thomas of this line was born abt 1723 and married Mirabelle Mortlock in 1746 and Lakenheath manor records note him as being Thomas the younger, indicating his Father's name was Thomas.
