No I haven't sorry .. I have delved into any records yet from Tuam.

Good luck !

Not sure if you told me this but I identified that John Foy B 1851 who was brother of my Great Great Grandmother Winifred was living at 28 Silver Street Hulme 1901 with wife Mary Ann and children / grand children.

And then i stumbled across a marriage of a William Foy and Jessie Price in 1924 at St George`s Hulme...wondered if same families again but I don't know of any Jessies...!! Strange co incidence!

Yes, I also have John at Silver Street in 1901.  In 1911 he was at 46 Peel Street, Hulme, Lancashire, England (living with son William & his family).

Interesting about the marriage you found.  There were a lot of FOYS around and even more when you start finding people with all the different variations like FAHY, FAHEY etc !

Thanks for those Tuam records .. I haven't tried yet looking for any irish records but I have been told that many have been destroyed and that often there a big gaps in those that have survived ... that has put me off a bit !!

I will get back to this part of my tree and have another look.

Thanks again
Lisa

I was told my relatives came from Tuam.My daughter(who lives 5mls from Tuam)and I spent a good couple of hours copying births and marriages from the registers for 1790-1900.These were in the Presbytery in Tuam. The secretary told us that Tuam records are stored by The Mormons.,Salt Lake City,Utah,USA.May be worth looking there.
Elaine

My great grandmother was Bridget Foy born in 1858.  Her father was Michael Foy and mother Bridgit Foy.  Family verbal history has it that she came from Tuam, but the only written evidence I can find is that on the 1911 census she was living in Failsworth, Manchester and states that she was born in Galway.

Do these names tie into any of the Foys of Tuam records that anyone has?
