JAMES LEAHY A.K.A. The Kerryman(?)

Can anyone assist me with this? Is "Kerryman" a title used by some people from that province?  James Leahy was supposed to be born mid to late 18th century and then moved to Schull area of Cork. Has anyone heard of him.? If he existed, then he seems very mysterious. He appears on some family trees as  JAMES LEAHY, of  CASTLE ISLAND, aka THE KERRYMAN? I am a bit sus of him as I think a lot of people are inclined to attach themselves to unusual people.  He is allegedly one of my ancestors, but I am not convinced.

Anyway, I come down from James to James to Patrick to Norry Leahy, my great grandmother, through to Denise O'Flynn (grandmother). Do you have many details of the Leahy family? I am trying to trace mum's family.

Yes I do.I  AM a Leahy descended from James Leahy /Ellen Donovan. Patrick is probably the brother of my gt gfr. I know some one who has O'Flynn connected with Leahy. Keep on trying for my website. In mean time I will try to contact the person I spoke about.  LORC

Thanks, I am in touch with Martyn Smith now. And yes Norry is short for Hanora.
