Hi Victor

We have corresponded before.

Elizabeth Medlock was born at Edworth Beds on 7 Aug 1793, the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth (Tyler). In 1861 Elizabeth gives her birthplace as Edworth, and on her remarriage in 1864 to William Meeks her father is named as Alexander Medlock dec'd

Let me know if you need any more on this family. I don't know the Shelford family at all. My Medlocks were from Eltisley originally

I sent you my Medlock tree some years ago, but it's been updated since then. I'll send it again if you'd like it.

David

Hello

I belong to the Surkitt line too.  My great, grandad was called Harry Manning Surkitt, illegitimate child of Charlotte Surkitt (daughter of Samuel Surkitt and Susanna (nee Manning).  Charlotte Surkitt then married into the Revell family.

Really would like to find out who the naughty father of Harry was.  Guess it is an impossible task?!

Hi Xian, and welcome to Rootschat.

I have Harry in my tree, but I have no knowledge as to who his father was (just checked with my 90 year old mother but she has no idea either). Have you checked to see if he was baptised in Toseland to see if there's any clue in the parish register? I show him as marrying Ellen Louisa Tack, and having two daughters.

I can just about remember meeting Aunt Charlotte when I was a boy, possibly when she was 90, although she was actually my grandmother's aunt. I have a photo of her if you're interested

Would be VERY interested in photo.  No, I haven't checked Parish records, but I don't live in the area, so not likely to able to.

My nan is one of those 2 daughters (of Harry and Ellen), she is still alive.  Betty.  Her sister was called Ivy.

If Charlotte was your Aunt, what does that make you to my Nan...Charlotte was her Grandma?

My relationship calculator says your grandmother and I are 2nd cousins, once removed. Your grandmother and my mother are 2nd cousins (and 5th cousins via another line)

Photos sent to your email address

If you'd like reports on the Surkitts and Revells I'll send them to you
