I have used that site hallmark, its very good.
I know annie died in ballynaslaney, its just down the road from me.
I dont want to hijack this thread but ill try explain my situation as i cant figure out how to start a thread of my own.
Im trying to find my father inlaws father.
Annie oneill, was born annie edwards in ballynaslaney, married a british soldier named george william morris, had a child named william morris and george went to the boar war and died. She then married michael oneill and had 3 more kids in ballynaslaney. Family stories say after 1911 she left ballynaslaney as michael claimed one of the children wasnt his. When she returned she had another son who was alfred oneill, annie died soon after and alfred was enrolled in to school as alfred morris, he later had to marry however as alfred oneill but one year after he married he baptized all his children as morris.
To complicate it all further were told alfred was baptized alphonsus oneill.
So basically we dont know his name, dob or where he was born, its assumed to be england. I figure if i can pin point where annie oneill was those few years i might find him.
He was also suppose to be in the raf some time from 1939 onwards and have deserted but again ive no idea what name or anything he used.
Interesting fact, Alphonsus is the saint of redemption and the church in barntown not far from here is the church of alphonsus but im not having any luck getting their records.
So can anybody give me any possible tips or leads to maybe help solve this 40 year search for alfreds birth cert?
Thanks for reading.
Also annie had a sister called mary kate edwards that possibly left for england maybe annie stayed with her or possibly her first husbands family. I found a mary kate from wexford in an english 1911 census but cant confirm if its her.
