Hello, charles Lamb was my grandfather and I'm trying to determine his birth history-without much success.I would like to try and get his discharge info.if it exists but where would I search ? He joined the army in 1891 at Aldershot at age 18 however, a possible birth cert suggests that he may have been only 16- ( born in 1875 not 1873), could he falsify his age ?what proof did the army require for joining?Also I'm not sure when he was discharged but I know he married in 1903 - demobbed. His army number was 2997 and he served in India.
