Hi Nike
Two marriages for a Gladys Sulway in Uxbridge Middlesex
One Gladys to Andrew  James , April/May/June 1945
and Gladys 2 married William Sears July/Aug/Sep 1948

Leonard also had a sister Gladys , just to make things difficult
Tried looking for death`s for Gladys James and Gladys Sears
assuming they were early 40`s they could have lived for years!!!Do either of these surnames mean anything ,did your
father have any contact with her.
re Family Bible I would assume the Moores were her Mothers
Parents and their  siblings I`ll keep digging

Dear Dragongirl,

You are amazing. Thank you!

The names don't mean anything to me, which does make it hard, especially with Leonard's sister.

My father always told us he had lived in a children's home, not with his mother, but he never said why, and he died when I was 5 years old. He was living in Australia at the time, and had no contact with any family back in the UK that I am aware of. He seemed sad about this - there's some sadness, and talk of long periods of loneliness in his letters.

I agree that the family Bible names are Gladys' maternal family: I've managed to work out some of those relationships quite neatly!

Thank you, again, and so much for your help. I really do appreciate it.

warm wishes
