Legacy and "partners"
« on: Friday 29 April 05 19:20 BST (UK) »
I'm amused to discover that there's no way of registering "partners" in Legacy other than as "common law" spouses.  Has any software manufacturer caught up with the modern world?  Incidentally, do people put partners onto their trees as a matter of course?  I only do it if there are children from the partnership.
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

Hi Sutton,

Yes I have to agree with you I only have common law too.

I have not had to worry about this so far as there is only Trystan and I in our trees who are not yet married !

If I was researching down this line I would do as you have done and record only if there were Children from the relationship :)

Hi,

We have just updated our copy of Legacy and they have now taken this into account.  On the marriage details there is now an option to chose wife, or type in partner or whatever you choose.
