Jane Hewton Kittle
« on: Thursday 23 June 11 17:50 BST (UK) »
Jane Hewton Kittle was married to George Hawthorn on 27 Sep 1853 in Drumcree, Arm. Ireland
Her dad is Thomas Hewton (why isn't it Hewton Kittle?)

I have looked on other genealogy sites and can only find her for that last name.
George's dad's name was Daniel Hawthorn.
If the couple's mother's were both deceased, would there be a blank for their names or is there another reason why there is no mention of the mothers.

Thanks,
Jan

Were her parents married?

Perhaps she was illegitimate and given her fathers surname as a middle name, and her mothers surname was Kittle.

Thanks for your reply!

All I can find so far is Jane's Marriage (it's not a certificate)  It just has the groom's name, bride's name, date of marriage, place of marriage, groom's father, and bride's father!

That's it!

It was written both ways  middle & surname reversed...as she had been married before to a Kettle/Keddle

Mother's names do not appear on Irish civil marriage certificates.

It looks as thought much information has already been found on the Canadian thread-
