Meet Dorothea Clarke, Completed refinished beautfully thank you all
« on: Friday 24 June 11 18:08 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to this site, new to genealogy as well, thought for years I wouldn't be interested but I'm have fun tracking my ancestors down, This one is my paternal grandmother as a young woman. I wouldn't mind having her restored if some kind soul would do it. Its a copy of the original which dad has back in New Zealand, He's going to get a copy of  this as well, I'm sure he would love to see it restored, not sure if he knows old photos can be restored so he'll be pleasantly surprised as well. Photo would have been taken around 1910

Wow, Fast work, thank you all very much :)
And all I did was have a little sleep, past midnight when I posted Dorothea  ;D
I am very impressed with the skills shown here. I was surprised at the detail editing brought out of the black and white photo, The florets on her blouse are there alright but I hadn't noticed before. I was just replying to thank you three for your efforts (I was impressed enough even with the B&W) when the recoloured photo arrived. a 24 caret gold necklace even. That blew me away Carolyn, All of the photos but especially your one I think are going to make an old man very very happy. I think he might even cry ^_^'
I'll print them out and mail them to NZ this afternoon, There will not doubt be a response from my Father in due time, I'll post that for you ones when I hear from Him, probably towards the end of next week.
Thank you all again and bless you Jim, David, Tabsearch and Carolyn

Just printed the colour photo but I lost a little of the effect, it looks a bit flat through my printer so I'm going to have her printed professionally, Both black and white and coloured, Just take a little longer for dads response is all.
