Could we be related?  My 4x great grandparents are William Ellis 1759-1833 and Elizabeth Covil 1732-1835 from Ickleton.  I'm descended from their 4th son, John Ellis 1793-1873 who married Bridget Bard 1796-1846.

My GGM Matilda Starling married Charley Howe, son of William Howe of Kirtling and an Elizabeth (possibly Pledger).

It's possible that Lillian was my GGM's sister in law rather than her sister, and that my mum's recollections are a bit hazy.
