No the info I have is that he was not a widower & his fathers name would not have been stated in the PR only witnesses names were entered at that time.

These might help:
Eleanor WARNES - Richard FLOWERS 6 Aug 1816 Worlingham
Mary Ann WARNE - Robert WYATT 13 Oct 1817 Worlingham

Thanks. Looks like the witneses were relations of Rebecca. What a shame one of his wasn't a witness.

I really need a way to prove his father's name as there are quite a lot of Williams in the area.

Thanks

Sorry Kamar should have made myself more clear the other names could be the other 2 marriages - Rebecca's sisters - you mentioned.

That's OK, it was me who wasn't clear. Working on the assumption that William belonged to Samuel and Sarah, I found Elizabeth, Sarah and Maria, also belonging to Samuel and Sarah, marrying in Benacre.

Hope that's a bit clearer. Sorry for the mix up.

There are names in Samuel and Sarah's family whicch tie up with  William and Rebecca's children and also withe the children of Henry, William's son.

It would be so great if I could only make the connection.

Thanks for your help.

Kamar

Hi there

I can understand if you cannot search back to see if William is somehow related to Samuel and Sarah.  Saying that I looked for both Samuel junior
(as there is generally one named after the Father) and William and I found the following:-

Samuel Balls born 12th January 1782 at Wrlingham, parents were Samyuel and Sarah
Then looks at William Balls born 26th July 1787 at Barnby, parents are Samuel and Sarah Scarnham.

On the 1841 censusat Blything Wenheston there are a Samuel and a William
Balls

Samuel Balls aged 55 ag Lab
Martha aged 60
Samuel aged 20
living at Mill Lane.
William Balls aged 55 a Innkeeper
Sarah aged  30
Emily aged 15
James aged 10
Susan aged 10
Thomas aged 5
Fanny aged 5
Charlotte age one and a half

As there are quite a few twins around just wondered if William had a twin
called Samuel which is why there is so much confusion.

In the 1851 census there is an extra child in Williams household called Ann and she is then 9 years old.

I also wonder if Sarah aged 30 and William at 55 had re-married.  It wasnt
unusual to be alot older than the wife and have children, but it wasnt unusual to have a wife with the same name which really makes it confusing.?

Or is this another family??

Just a thought

Thanks for that Sandymc. It's another avenue to walk down. I'll check it all out and see how we go.

Please remember that in the 1841 the ages were rounded up/down (can never remember which way it went), so your 'twins' are probably of different ages, ie the two 10 year olds could be 7 and 9.

(BTW Wenhaston and Worlingham)  ;)

Pat ...

Every time I find an ancestor,
I have to find two more!

SUFFOLK - Pendle, Stygall, Pipe, Fruer, Bridges, Fisk, Bellamy, Sparham - all link to  Framlingham
DERBY - Bridges and Frost (originally Framlingham/Parham)
NOTTINGHAM - Lambert & Selby
BERKSHIRE/then Hammersmith LDN - Fulker
LDN/MDX - Murray, Clancy, Broker, Hoskins, Marsden, Wilson, Sale

GGfather Michael Wilson born Cork, lived Fulham London - moved to Boston USA 1889, what happened next?
