Thanks Kingskerswell, still hopeful I have the correct family, if so this record could take me back another generation.

Thanks again aghadowey, your probably correct for instilling a word of caution, I may be jumping too quick, it's just that I have been searching for some time on this line and this is possibly the first real breakthrough.

Yes that's the family in 1911. As far as I am aware Jean/ie was the only girl in the family, the child that died in 1911 was Joseph, another 2 sons were born after 1911, William James and Norman, also twin boys died shortly after or at birth in 1917

Thanks for the McCorkell information although I was aware of the Will calender entry, I have concentrated on my McCorkell line mostly over the past couple of years and have built an extensive tree, I was also (thanks again to Rootsweb!) able to trace branches of my McCorkell line in the US and Canada, I have got back to approx 1700 - 1750 with my McCorkell's.

Having spent last night searching for alternative Mary Anne McDonalds in Co. Tyrone without success I am becoming more convinced that I have the correct family, despite the inconsistencies with birth year from the 1901/1911 census records.

On Mary Anne's  gravestone she is recorded as being 88 years old at the time of her death in 1968 that ties in well with the birth record above, so I'm inclined to believe the census records were inaccurate as to her true age.

I'll revisit the marriage record the next time I'm in PRONI and hopefully find a witness to the marriage with a connection to Mary Anne's family, one other small piece of information, Mary Anne's son Norman second name was Alexander, the name does not feature in any of my McCorkell research but Mary Anne from Farest, Co. Tyrone's Grandfather was Alexander.

I've been thinking about Mary Anne McDonald also and wonder if we can connect her to that family via the rector in Donegal- perhaps he was previously in Tyrone and she went with him to Donegal.

In 1910 Ulster directory-

In 1911 census he's married but wife not at home- born in Dublin instead of Armagh-
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Donegal/Castlecary/Glebe/495499/
Looks like he married again since wife Anna died in 1901- "Probate of the Will of Anna Craig late of The Rectory Moville County Donegal who died 19 June 1901 granted at Londonderry to The Reverend Samuel R. Craig Clerk the Husband."
"Craig the reverend Samuel Runsie of Craigmount 31 Central Hall Upper Norwood Surrey clerk died 19 March 1923 Probate London 13 June to Clara Mildred Craig widow. Effects £42 in Northern Ireland. Resealed Belfast 29 August."

So much for that theory- found him listed in Donegal in 1879  :(
1879 Samuel Runcie Craig, was also perpetual curate of Lough Eske.
