Hi Sadieh
Just a thought, have you looked or asked someone to look at the actual 1901 census, not the sanitised version that's on-line

I know some of my interests have been horribly transcribed almost beyond belief.

happy hunting

Hi Bee
Thanks for that info.
No, I haven't asked as I didn't know there was a possible problem. It was checked for me but I thought it was correct. Do you know anyone in particular that I could ask please??

Hi Sadieh

Maybe if you put a request on the 'Census lookup and resource request' board someone might come up with a possible answer.

In one of my mistranscribed ancestors an L turned into a B so take heart yours is probably there somewhere

good luck
Bee

Hi Sandie,

Have you seen this site:

http://www.malvernhills.gov.uk/malvern_exp/nicholson.asp

There is a contact for the Managing Director of Nicholson Organs.  It's a bit of a wild shot but you never know, the company archives may have something of use to you.

Good luck.

Hi Jill
I actually contacted the MD 18 months ago. He was stunned to know that there was a Nicholson son that had come to AUST and made good. We stay in touch occassionaly and I bring him up to speed every now and then as requested.

Unfortunately they don't have archives. Can you believe that!!! He'll have something to start with now!! lol.

Thanks for the thought though. Much appreciated.
