Hi

Can someone help me with this name please?  Especially with the bride's signature.

Cheers

Hi karenlee

Have to say FORROW, since it seems to be the same surname as the male witness, and his writing seems pretty clear?

The minister/clerk's writing - the bride's surname looks like FORROW also - you can just make out the 'crossbar' of the "F" finishing up just before the 'o' - which looks like the "F" in "Feb" on the next line.

The bride's signature - bit of a muddle!  it looks like aother word written above it, though some it must belong to the tail of the "G" written above?
Could the next part of it be -  for some reason -  a fancy  ^ mark?

Cheers

Hey AMBLY

The transcription says TRORROW but there are no other examples of that surname at all that I can find.  FORROW looks good.. will see if that turns up in the right area at the right time.

Many thanks

Hi Karenlee

I agree with Ambly. Both the first writing of her name and the signature of the witness tally. I can't work out what has gone on with her signature though.

cheers

I think the word above Ann's signature is the word Thom - part of Thomas - as though Thomas Forrow has tried to fit his name in above Forrow, then been corrected and shown where to sign.

That's a good option Jancis. I wish the resolution were a little better. I've played with it in photoshop, but I can't make it out as anything definitive.

(I would have been devastated as the bride if my brother had done that)
