No leads, no parents, no known birth place, on his Death cerificate, where to from here!.

A real mystery man 

Hello everybody i looking for a connection to the Newbiggins of England! here's what I no.

John Newbiggin born c1832 England (NZ Death Certificate)
arrived NZ abt 1862 unmarried (found him travelling on the ship 'Margaret' arrived Christchurch, NZ from Dunedin, NZ 2nd March 1863
Lived in Akaroa, Canterbury, NZ. Occupation Ship builder (Ship wright)
Married: 23 Feb 1864 at the Residence of James Wilson, Duvauchelle's Bay, Akaroa to Marion Bow

Children from this marriage are as follows:

James Wilson Newbegin (1864/1927) m: Jane Ann Garaty (1868/1945) family went to Australia
John Newbegin (1866/1944) m:(1) Louisa Warner (1865/1893) (m2) Contance May Peach (1868/1953)
Mary Wilson Newbegin (1867/1927) m: Samuel Henry Kingston (1863/1945)  *my line

The name Wilson appears alot in his children and grandchildren, so could be a connection with his family in England. Iam aware that there are Newbiggin's "Ship builders" in Durham, Hexham areas

I only hope John wasn't coming to NZ for a new begining? and changed his name! anyhow can anybody help with a lead, lookforward to hearing from you all

Marriage: MWM  Joseph Newbigin and Margaret Kent  5 June 1826

Baptism Monkwearmouth:  Joseph Newbigin born 15 Jan 1804, baptised 12 Feb 1804 5th son of John Newbigin, Shore mariner, by his wife Mary Graydon, daughter of Samuel Graydon of Sunderland

There are also baptisms of 2 Samuels--one 1798 and the other 1801 to John and Mary.

BINGO! I think i found the connection. my John Newbiggin born 1834 and from your infomation s/o Joseph & Margaret also had a sister named Mary born 1828 whom married James Wilson on 13 Oct 1852 at Bishop Wearmouth, hence the connection with James Wilson in John's childrens names.....
Well done. Does any body have the Newbiggin's in the 1861 census Joseph's wife Margaret died c1848 and he remarried in 1850 to Hannah Scott in 12 Aug 1850
