1871 RG10 598 63 46 - Civil Parish St George The Martyr Southwark - living at I think it reads 6 Mermaid Ct

Emily E daugh 18 Middlesex - Carpet Sewer?
Joseph W son 15 Paddington Middlesex - I think it reads Doctors Assistant

Many thanks for this look up.  I was hoping the dad was an Edward....will keep searching.

To save unneccesary work,perhaps you could give us all the info you have,ie dad's name is Edward ! What job did he do- presume you got his name off the marriage cert-when /where/what job did Alfred do.

You do realise that if he was illegitimate he may have invented a fathers name?
