Richard Donovan RC Baptism 1854 Merthyr
« on: Sunday 10 July 11 15:49 BST (UK) »
Looking for a RC baptism for an 1854 birth in Merthyr for a Richard Donovan.  His parents were Denis & Johanna Donovan.

On the 1861 census the family were living in Garth Hamlet

Hoping to find the mothers maiden name.

Thanks

given that there's an 8 year gap between Richard & older brother John, the marriage for Denis & Johanna might not be the first for either. There is a marriage registered the previous year which is a possible

Dennis Donovan june qtr 1853 Merthry Tydfil vol 11a pg 517 with Johana Burke on the same page.

Great find Osprey  - if this is the marriage for Richards parents, which looks very likely because I cant find any other Dennis & Johanna in Merthyr in 1861 then its not my line.  Will have to arrange a visit to Merthyr library to check if there is more than one record I need to look at.

Thanks
