???  I am trying to find out more about edward kane. I have him in Glasgow scotland on the 1881 census married to Mary Davidson, and he gives his birth place as Tyrone Ireland and his age as 38. Can anyone help me with his origins (birth,Parents,when he left ireland  ect) I would be most greatfull ???

If they married in Scotland - his parents names will be on the marriage cert together with his mothers maiden name

Hi,
   If his age was correct in 1881 then he was born about 1843 which is before civil registration started in Ireland (1845) so to get further back in Ireland you will have to rely on Church records where these exist.  So you will need to know the religion and the parents location fairly exactly.
