Marriage certificate question

Hi

I have a copy of a family marriage certificate from 1910.

There fathers are named, but both had died before the wedding.

The certificate does not name them as deceased.

Where as from another wedding certificate from a different marriage, one of the fathers named has deceased in brackets against his name.

Question - Was it normal to leave out deceased or did it depend on the individual church priests to record or not to record the fathers as deceased. etc.

There was no requirement to ask whether the fathers were deceased.  Some asked, some didn't - the couple might also volunteer the information.

In short, even if it doesn't say the fathers were deceased, it doesn't mean they weren't
