Thanks to a kind soul on the Bedfordshire Lookup Requests page I now know that the William Wyllie who married Mary Maria Rogers is indeed 'my' William Wyllie. So it does seem probable that it is all one and the same WW.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

May I suggest that, should you want more information, you post what you know AND the detail of what you post on other relevant threads?

You may.

Except that in this case, at the point when I posted a very specific request for a lookup ONLY in a different county, I did not know whether this bridegroom was in fact 'my' William Wyllie. It was pure speculation, which, after the event, turned out to be correct. I did not know[/b] anything about it.

Your title question seems vague compared to what you seem to know?

Possibly, but I have seen much vaguer ones on Rootschat. I did at least take care mention the name of the person(s) I wanted to know about.

It would have been daft to put everything I knew in the title; I was hoping to frame a title which would intrigue people and encourage them to read the full question. In which, it seems, I succeeded.
