county bounderies
« on: Wednesday 16 June 04 02:21 BST (UK) »
Hi
My GGG Grandfather  FRANCIS DAVIDSON FOR(r)EST
gave his birthplace as just Northumberland on the 1881 census but put 'Shields' on the 1891. would this refer to North Shields or were both 'Shields' in Northumberland at that time? I know he married in S Shields in 1849
Any advice welcome
