Re: S Aust lookup for ANDREWS
« Reply #9 on: Wednesday 20 July 11 00:50 BST (UK) »
Thanx guys.
We are all on the ball this morning. Very prompt responses.  AND some good information.
Interesting to see the focus is on Vic rather than S. Aust as I was advised.

Any info on the marriage and children of Arthur Tremayne Andrews?

Jon

TROVE has a number of mentions of an Elizabeth Anne Tremayne ANDREWS, as she was Victoria's oldest woman at one time - 104 in 1936.  n 1936 she is living in Geelong with her daughter Frances aged 81 which would be the second child in Jenn's list of children.  Elizabeth was born in Cornwall.

The article in The Argus of Friday 8 May 1936, based on an interview with her gives much information about her family in Cornwall, her emigration, marriage and children in Geelong and later life.  There is a photo of her, but unfortunately it is not copied well.

A wonderfull find Judith
an  interesting life of reasonable privilage
so different to so many other who had to struggle to raise 10 to 20 children in great hardship,  she did seem quite humble  though
