Just to update to say this one-name study now has a regularly updated blog at

https://caversonenamestudy.wordpress.com/

sharing Cavers stories and genealogies, one blog post at a time.

There is also now an associated Facebook group for Cavers surname researchers at

https://www.facebook.com/groups/482208471795050/

The one-name study continues to gather references to Cavers people from all over the world, with a particular interest in the pre-1900 period. As a result it has been possible to piece together lots of family trees, and share these with modern descendants, and put them in touch with each other.

For a detailed description of the one-name study see its profile page at the Guild of One-Name Studies:

Hi Viv,

I don't know if this will help, but I've now added the categories

  • ONS : One Name Study, and
  • OPS : One Place Study

to the SIT.

This may help to let members know you are interested in all occurrences of this surname, or all surnames from a particular place.

For names/places where you are conducting both an ONS and an OPS, then just enter the surname record twice, once with ONS marked, and then with OPS marked.

The SIT now has a soundex search, so this may help you by also pointing you to researchers of variations of your names.

regards,
Bob
