Have spent the day in the library going nowhere fast.
Have Ancestry access but unable to find the people I am after. Would be pleased with some help.
I have a Rastrick York family which begins with Robert Smith and wife Mary Ann Dixon married Elland Yorkshire UK 1824.
Robert is a Cordwainer/Shoemaker.
Children-
Thomas born 1827 Elland
Elizabeth b. 1828 Elland.
Ann b 1829 Rastrick
Jane b.1831Rastrick
William b.1832 Rastrick
John b1834 Rastrick
(this last 3 baptised same day in Rastrick 19 July 1835.)
Samuel b 1836 Rastrick
Sarah b 1840 Rastrick
1841 census all on Oaks Green at Rastrick
1851 census father with some of the children.
Thomas Smith has married Martha Thornton Fox in 1851 and in 1851 census is a Cordwainer/Shoemaker in Rastrick, York UK
Thomas and Martha Smith, the Cordwainer -
son James Smith born 1852. Rastrick.
Story ends until 1902 in Adelaide Australia where the son of Thomas and Martha Smith - JOSEPH FOX SMITH b 1854-6 marries Emma Cook
Their child Martha Thornton Smith b. 1903 Adelaide South Australia.
