Marriage Certificate Abbreviation?

I have a copy of a marriage certificate dates 1876. In the section near the bottom where it usually says by licence, is an abbreviation which I don't understand. It seems to say Saf. Pug. Cert. or Cut . They were married by a curate in the local parish church.
Does anyone know what this means

Hi Angela and welcome to Rootschat!  I think it looks like Sup. Pug. Cert., however what that might mean I have no idea!

Not a lot of help sorry, someone smart will be along shortly   :)
