Thanks for those details of the census. I would also be interested to know the death place and year of Alexander & Elizabeth (nee Campbell) and also their son William & Helen (nee Hamilton)

So what's the connection with Northhall? So far I've seen no mention of it in any of the records cited...

Family story had it that Northhall was the family home of William Christie and that the photo was supposedly Northhall - but looks like from the info reported above that this is unlikely to be the case.

Hi, we think we've identified the house in the picture. It's actually Rothes House which still stands within the grounds of Tullis Russell Papermill near Markinch. It was the house of Sir David Russell. So it's definitely not in North Hall and chances are your family did not stay there.

I have it that William Christie born 1846 and Helen Hamilton born 1847 both of Markinch, Fyfe married in 1871 in Markinch. Can anyone give me their respective death dates and places and also burial places. With thanks.

Helen Christie nee Hamilton appears to have died in 1887 aged 39 in Leuchars, Fife, mother's maiden name Duncan (ref: 445/ 2).

William Christie appears to have died in 1930 aged 84 in St Andrews & St Leonards Parish, St Andrews, Fife (ref: 453/ 65).

This matches the 1881 census returns as they were in Guardbridge, north-east Fife, near Leuchars and St Andrews.

Alexander Christie appears to have died in 1871 aged 60 in Markinch (ref: 447/ 80).

Elizabeth Christie nee Campbell appears to have died in 1874 aged 59 in Markinch, mother's maiden name Dalrymple (ref: 447/ 44).

It's good to see the OP has responded to the last response after 10 years.
