I'm trying to find out more information about my Grandmother Alice May Andrews, she was born in 1901 and her father was Philip Andrews i don't know who her mother was or were she was born. She married Charles Thomas Ganley in 1922 in Birmingham, he passed away in 1923 and there had one daughter. In 1926 she married Benjamin Rushton also in Birmingham he passed away in 1929 and there had two sons. In 1932 she married John Hollis and again in Birmingham and had five children including my Father she passed away in 1940. This is all the information i have about her.

Her birth reg is actually 1902 Alice May Andrews June 1/4 1902 Birmingham

Buying this certificate would give you her mother's maiden name.

She is on the 1911 census - but transcribed by FindMyPast as Henrietta (the same name as her sister!).

I can't give details regarding 1911, but I can confirm her father's name is Philip.

1901 census has her family here:
Reference RG13, Piece 2836, Folio 128, Page 5
1, 11 Court House, Cheapside, Birmingham

Andrews, Philip G  Head  M  42  Nail Caster  b Aldershot, Hampshire
Andrews, Emily M  Wife  F  30  Laundress  b Dover, Kent
Andrews, Henry P  Son  M  10  b Birmingham
Andrews, Henrietta M  Daughter  F  8  b Birmingham

In 1891 the family is here:
Reference RG12, 2384, 50, 34
3, 11 Court, Milk Street, Birmingham

Andrews, Philip  Head  M  31  Boatman  b Birmingham
Andrews, Emma M  Wife  F  21  b Birmingham (simply says "Do"- ditto)
Andrews, <unnamed>  Son  M  2 months  b Birmingham

But I can't find the marriage? ???

Hello

If your grandmother was the daughter of Philip G Andrews then your grandmother was a cousin of my grandmother Maud Andrews.

Philip Griffith Andrews was born in Aldershot because his father William was a soldier in the Military Train & Casuals.
