Gosh you've both been busy.  What stars you are! :-* I'm tearing my hair out right now cos last night I found an Ann Green born in Chevington, which is where Sarah's brother George W was born, so I thought BINGO.  It was late and I didn't stop to note it and now it's not there!  Whoosh into thin air. LOL Keeping at it. I will not be beaten!! ;)
Thanks to you both.

Only 11 year late!

I'm research the old post mill was Chevington Green and it appears that it was "held" by a Robert Kemp until his death in about 1805.  A doc I have seen states that his youngest son (and heirs (custom of Chevington Manor)) was 3 years old and called John Kemp.

Two questions I have are:-

Does anyone know Robert's date of death/burial?
And did he leave a Will?

It is possible that he was related in some way to William Rayner of Stowmarket, but I'm not too sure about that.

Regards,

Robert Kemp bc.1770 bur.5/10/1805 (aged 35) Chevington, son of Robert Kemp and Susan Rayner.   (Unusual to see parents names on someone of this age).

Annette,

Thanks so much!  That also ties up a connection with a later miller, called William Last, either Robert's father-in-law, or a brother (kin?) of Robert's wife.

This helps a great deal!

The will of malster Robert Kemp of Chevington was proved in the Sudbury Archdeaconry court in 1805 (Suffolk Archives).

An abstract (IR 26/391/189) can be downloaded from TNA.
