Sharnbrook
« on: Tuesday 02 August 11 17:02 BST (UK) »
I have found a record of a settlement certificate of a Thomas Gurrey and Mary his wife from Sharnbrook to Riseley in 1735

Please could someone look up a marriage or birth for Thomas in Sharnbrook. His name 'Gurrey' could be spelt in many ways ie Gurrie, Gurry, Geary, Gurrey etc.

Thanks very much

Virtually all Beds baptisms and marriages pre 1813 are on the IGI at www.familysearch.org, which you can easily check yourself.

There's a marriage in Riseley in 1716 to a Mary, which might be him.

But you asked the same question last December, which John answered in reply #33 at http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,493756.msg3528890.html#msg3528890

..... & answer #14 of that topic details the 1716 Riseley marriage

If you're looking for new info then what is it ?

Try this ... from the transcribed will of William Partridge of Bozeat, Northants who died 1681 but it was signed 17 Oct 1657 ......... that my son Marke Partridge shall have the land belonging to the cottage which was late in the posession of John Gurrey.....

Now I know some Partridges of Bozeat & area ended up in Sharnbrook, so why not the Gurreys... is this a change of direction for you?

Sorry, senior moment. I asked so many questions, that you so kindly answered, that I forgot I'd already asked for info on this couple  :-[
