The National Library  in Wellington has The Press Newspaper. Might be worth it to see if someone can go look there for you.

While I have my cap in hand I'd really like John's wife's notice too:

Beatrice May Hughes d. 30 12 2007

I can't get the Press death notice pdf thing from stuff to open for that year   :-[

The ultra-kind people at National Library are giving up their Saturday this weekend in the cause of Family History Month and will be open from 9am-4pm. Yayyyyy.....

Sort of a 'day-time' version of the Auckland Public Library night-time lockins - but I think we'll be able to leave when we want!!

So I'll add your requests to the workbook

Best wishes
Elli

Thanks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much ellipitt!

I appreciate you taking the time to shed some light on this branch of my tree.  Absolutely brilliant adding little details like their nicknames to the tree and their kids and grandkids!!!

Thanks again!
