What dates are you looking at? Any specific names?
I can see a few entries on FreeBMD from 1901 onwards, mainly in West Bromwich registration district.

Also a *possible* origin of the surname from FamilySearch:
Thomas HILL (22), son of Joseph HILL married Mary Ann CHANCE (19), daughter of Elijah CHANCE, 25 Dec 1863, West Bromwich, Staffs.
Any good?

If you are about to ring someone then they are obviously still alive
Rootschat has a policy of not allowing names of people who are still living to be posted on the boards.
So just be aware of that when responding again.
If you are sure that the ones you seek are deceased then that is fine.
Carol
PS I think the marriage you mentioned took place in Oldbury in Dec 1954.

So what exactly are you looking for then?
I presume you know the couple I mentioned who married in 1954 and are still alive? You need to get their marriage cert or ask them who their parents were.Make sure they are dead and then you can tell us here and we can help you go farther backwards.
