Hi Everyone
I think I am just at the end of my tether!! I have had this brick wall for over 18 months and am now at a loss as to how to knock it down.
My earliest census for them is 1871.
Cottage, Limpsfield Heath, Limpsfield, Surrey.
Thomas Ware, Head, Gardener, 36 yrs, b. Tandridge, Surrey,
Mary Ware, Wife, 41 yrs (should be 46 yrs), b. Westerham, Kent.
Alfred Ware, Son, 7 yrs, b. Reigate, Surrey.
Emily Ware, Daur., 5 yrs, b. Sutton, Surrey.
Alice Ware, Daur., 3 yrs, b. Peckham, Surrey.
Thomas and Mary Elizabeth nee Boyes, were married on 28th July 1863 at, The parish Church, in St John's parish, District St Olave, Southwark, Surrey. Thomas's father was James Ware a Laborer. Mary's father was Joseph Boyes a Laborer. Residence at time given as St John's.
The address on Alice Ware's birth cert was, 1 George Street, Albert Road, Peckham, Surrey. Thomas's Occupation at that time was, Gentleman's Gardener.
I have no clues as to who Thomas's mother was, their last known address as at 1881 was Peters Street, Bradninch Devon but, Thomas was deceased by then.
So Thomas's estimated birth year would be 1836. Does anyone have Parish records in these areas? In the 1861 census Thomas would have been 26 yrs, in the 1851 census he would have been 16 yrs, but he may not have been living with his father James!! The only real lead I have is that he was a gardener, would he have served his time as such?
I think I need a time machine rather than a crystal ball!!
I would be over the moon if someone could shed some light on this.
Thanks for reading this anyway.
