You didn't mention a denomination - I presume your Brophy family were RC ?

The townland of Killasmeestia is located in the civil parish of Skirk which is in the west of the county and bordering Co. Tipperary. The RC parish for the area is Borris-in-Ossory. Baptism and marriage records for this parish go back to 1840, and are available in the National Library (Kildare Street, Dublin), and also on LDS films - see : RC Parish of Borris-in-Ossory   (Irish Times)

I've had a look at all my records for cemeteries around Borris-in-Ossory, and as recently tonight in Killameestia, but only found one Brophy record, and that was in Skeirke cemetery.
